Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) is a measure of any salt, metal, or mineral that is dissolved in water.
This reusable TDS meter tells you the overall water purity, displayed on the screen as concentration measured in parts per million (PPM). The lower the number, the fewer dissolved solids there are in it, and the purer your water. A reading of zero corresponds to pure water* such as distilled water.
Know when to change your filters by frequently comparing your tap water to your filtered water. Don’t forget to check the water quality from your refrigerator’s dispenser or ice cube maker too.

|<50-250 ppm||Low: Lacking minerals, such as calcium, magnesium, and zinc.|
|300-500 ppm||Ideal: This level is the sweet spot for TDS in drinking water. The water most likely contains minerals and does not taste flat.|
|600-900 ppm||Not great: Consider a reverse osmosis system to filter TDS.|
|1000-2000 ppm||Bad: It is not recommended to drink water at this TDS level.|
|>2000||Unacceptable: A TDS level above 2000 ppm is unsafe and household filters can not properly filter this level of contamination.|
