It’s hard to improve on near perfection but ETI has managed to outdo even the mighty Superfast Thermapen Pro. They are so sure of this amazing new thermometer that they improved the warranty to a full 5 years!
The NEW Thermapen One thermometer is the latest model of the UK’s number one selling food thermometer, Thermapen. Measuring temperature over the range of -49.9 to 299.9 °C and used by hundreds of thousands of discerning cooks worldwide, it offers a combination
of speed, accuracy and convenience of use. The new Thermapen One uses advanced technology and includes a number of innovative features illustrated below.

The Thermapen One is fully configurable using buttons in the battery compartment. Here you can choose to lock the display position, disable auto-sleep mode, choose °C or °F scales and select 1° or 0.1° resolution.
The patented 360° self-rotating display can be used in any position, in either hand and is truly ambidextrous. The Thermapen One incorporates an intelligent backlit display sensing light levels, automatically turning the backlight on/off in varying light conditions. The motion-sensing sleep mode with user changeable time delay automatically turns the Thermapen on/off when set down or picked up, maximising battery life.
The casing is washable and includes Biomaster Anti-Microbial Technology that reduces bacterial growth and the ergonomic rubber seal minimises the risk of the ingress of water, dust or food.
As well as being waterproof to IP67, it is ‘probably’ the fastest reading contact thermometer on the market today. The true temperature of a product can be tested in just one second. The Thermapen One incorporates a reduced tip, stainless steel, food penetration probe (Ø3.3 x 110 mm) that conveniently folds back through 180° into the side of the instrument when not in use.
The Thermapen One is powered by a single AAA battery with a life expectancy of 2000 hours in normal use, without the backlight. Both low battery (icon) and open circuit indication are displayed, when applicable. Each Thermapen One is supplied with a FREE traceable certificate of calibration.

FAQ:
What is the difference between a ThermoWorks Thermapen and an ETI Thermapen?
In some parts of the world, the Thermapen is marketed under the ThermoWorks brand, in others, the ETI brand. In Hong Kong, it is marketed under the ETI brand.
What makes the Thermapen One so fast compared to other thermometers?
The main reason is the professional thermocouple technology that we use instead of mass-produced thermistor technology. Thermocouples are recommended by the most food standards agencies for measurement of cooked meat products and thin portions. We also use a reduced-diameter needle tip on the probe. Comparable professional meters cost £140 to £300 for the electronics and a similar probe!
Why is a fast reading thermometer important?
A fast reading thermometer is important because your food continues to cook as you take its temperature. For example, a pan-fried piece of dover sole may be overcooked by the time a slower thermometer reaches the correct temperature. When testing food in an oven, a fast thermometer means the oven door spends less time open, losing less heat. It also means your hand spends less time in the oven too.
How do I know what temperature to cook to?
Each Thermapen One comes with a quick reference temperature chart detailing target temperatures for meat, baking, confectionary and sugar syrups. Many modern recipes also include recommended target temperatures.
What is the ‘Biomaster’ anti-bacteria additive?
Biomaster Antimicrobial Technology is incorporated into the casing of the Thermapen One. It is safe, effective and permanent, controlling harmful bacteria, keeping the surface of your Thermapen One clean and hygienic for its entire lifetime. Biomaster products have been proven to reduce growth of food borne bacteria such as E.Coli, Salmonella and Campylobacter by up to 99.99%, so your Thermapen One ensures you are constantly protected.
Where should I place the probe tip to see if it’s cooked?
When testing if your meat is cooked, the coldest part will be the very center of the thickest portion. With larger foods, you can take quick readings with your thermometer in several locations to verify that the entire portion is done. If you are chilling a food, the center of the thickest part will be the last to cool. Penetrate the food you are checking with the probe and place the very tip of the probe where you want to measure.
